Taylen Green presents biggest test yet for Ole Miss defense

The Ole Miss Rebels are about to face their toughest quarterback challenge of the season so far.

Taylen Green has quickly emerged as one of the most dangerous dual-threat players in college football, and he is the X-factor for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

At 6-foot-6 with 10 total touchdowns already this season, Green brings a rare combination of size, arm talent and mobility.

Green creates chaos. Whether it is extending plays, breaking contain or pushing the ball downfield, Green forces defenses to account for every possibility. His ability to turn broken plays into explosive gains makes him one of the most difficult quarterbacks to defend.

Ole Miss has not seen a quarterback with this kind of dual-threat ability yet this season. That puts added pressure on the defense to stay disciplined, especially in the front seven and in coverage.

Under defensive coordinator Pete Golding, Ole Miss has shown speed, depth and the ability to adjust. Even with new faces, the defense has played at a high level through the first two weeks.

Now it has to prove it again. Containing Green will require limiting explosive plays and forcing him into tougher decisions as a passer. If Ole Miss can do that, it can control the game. If not, Green has the ability to take over.
