TCU quarterback Josh Hoover is not getting enough attention.
But, his performance is becoming harder to ignore. On Game Runs Deep, Hoover’s early-season production stood out as one of the biggest reasons the TCU Horned Frogs look like a legitimate contender.
The numbers are there. Hoover has already reached 1,000 passing yards with 11 touchdowns, including a five-touchdown performance in the Horned Frogs 35-24 win over SMU. His ability to consistently produce in the passing game has given TCU one of the more reliable offenses in the Big 12.
Across college football, steady quarterback play has been difficult to find. Hoover provides exactly that. He operates the system efficiently, protects the football and still creates explosive plays.
Under head coach Sonny Dykes, Hoover has developed into a quarterback who can both manage the offense and elevate it. That balance is a big reason TCU has positioned itself near the top of the conference early in the season.
Teams like Texas Tech have drawn attention as Big 12 contenders, but so farTCU has shown it belongs in that same conversation. With Hoover leading the offense, the ceiling is higher than many expected. Hoover has quietly been one of the most effective players at the position. If that continues, it will not stay quiet for long.
